How long do temporary email addresses last?
By default, a FastTempBox mailbox remains active for 10 minutes. This provides plenty of time to receive and confirm signups. If an external service is delayed, you can easily click "+ Add 10 Minutes" to extend your mailbox duration.
Can I choose a custom username for my temporary email?
Yes. You can click the "Change" button on the homepage to specify a custom local username or generate a new random address at any time.
Can I recover emails after my mailbox has expired?
No. To guarantee absolute privacy and zero-footprint storage, all expired mailboxes, messages, and attachments are permanently purged by automated background cleanup routines. We do not maintain backups of expired messages.
Can I send emails from FastTempBox?
No. FastTempBox is strictly a receive-only service. We do not permit sending outbound messages to prevent spam abuse, phishing campaigns, and blacklisting of our mail domain.
Is my temporary mailbox private from other users?
Yes. Each mailbox is protected by a cryptographically random session token stored locally in your browser. Other visitors cannot view your messages unless you share your address and session with them.
Can I receive file attachments?
Yes. FastTempBox supports safe attachments such as PDF documents, standard office files, and common image formats. Dangerous executable attachments (.exe, .bat, .vbs, .sh, .scr) are automatically blocked for your protection.
How fast do incoming emails appear in my inbox?
Most emails appear within 2 to 10 seconds of being sent by the sender mail server. Our infrastructure uses live Server-Sent Events (SSE) and fast fallback polling to refresh your inbox automatically.
Is using temporary email legal?
